Shopping for a GMC Acadia for sale in Golden Valley, and want to make sure you choose a vehicle equipped for Minnesota winters? We get it. Snow days on the outskirts of Minneapolis can be brutal. But with the right vehicle, they can be more manageable—and even a little fun.

The three-row Acadia is available with several optional features and packages that transform it from an already reliable, flexible SUV to a cold-weather conqueror. Our goal is always to ensure shoppers hit the road in a vehicle loaded with features that will make their drives more enjoyable. So today, we’re detailing how to build the most winter-ready 2026 Acadia.

From features that keep you warm and cozy, to perks that boost snowy adventures and winter-ready safety elements, we’re covering them all. Get ready to customize an Acadia that’s designed to help you dread driving in freezing temperatures a little less (and maybe even enjoy it).

AWD and Snow Mode for Confident Winter Driving

When you have to tackle the roads on a powder day, you need an SUV that’s ready for it. And in a suburb like Golden Valley that can see up to 52 inches of snow per year, traction matters a lot. Luckily, the Acadia offers all-wheel drive (AWD), giving your tires a solid grip on the road when it counts.

Across the entire lineup, the Traction Select system features a snow mode. Snow mode is specifically made to improve command on snow and ice. It does so by adjusting throttle response, transmission shift mapping, and torque distribution to prevent wheel slippage.

Snowy roads in Minnesota will be no match for the GMC Acadia, and you can loosen your grip on the wheel confidently, knowing the Acadia provides stable handling and advanced traction to keep you safely on course.

Heated Comfort for Every Seat and Surface

The nice thing about the 2026 Acadia is that you won’t need to spring for an upper trim to enjoy heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated outside mirrors. These features come standard across all trims. So you’ll enjoy a full-body warmth from those heated front seats, a steering wheel that melts the chill from your knuckles, and heated exterior mirrors that melt away visibility-hindering frost.

What does not come standard across all trims is the heated rear outboard seats, complete with three levels of warmth. While these are standard on the Denali and Denali Ultimate, they’re optional on the Elevation and AT4 trims.

Should you choose the starting Elevation trim or the off-road AT4, you’ll need to specify that you want rear heated outboard seats during the ordering process and budget for the extra cost. However, if you’ve experienced a Minnesota winter before, you know every heated seat is worth every extra penny.

Roof Rails for Winter Gear and Adventures

Snow doesn’t only have to bring challenges: sometimes it brings fun! We love taking advantage of snow days to enjoy some skiing, sledding, and snowman building. If you want to load up your Acadia with skis, snowboards, and all manner of snow-centric gear, consider adding the Rugged Package.

The Rugged Package gets you roof cross rails. You can mount carrier kits to these rails for transporting your winter sports gear. Plus, when you’ve simply overloaded your Acadia’s interior, you can add cargo boxes to these rails to pack a few more things that might not fit in the cargo space.

With the 2026 Acadia, you can embrace the winter fun, fully prepared for any snowy condition and a spur-of-the-moment adventure.

All-Weather Mats Keep Your Acadia Clean

While the snow on the tops of trees might be pretty, by the time your friends and family have stomped on it, that snow becomes muddy slush. And you don’t want it all over the interior of your SUV, making a mess that will have to be cleaned up later.

However, this isn’t the case with the All-Weather Package, which adds premium all-weather floor mats for the first and second rows, as well as an all-weather floor liner for the third row. This package even adds an all-weather cargo mat.

These mats are designed to be easy to remove and hose down. So when your crew tracks all manner of sludge and ice into your vehicle, you can simply pluck out the mats and rinse them. The addition of the cargo all-weather mat is especially convenient when loading up your trunk with muddy, snowy gear after a day full of adventuring.

Heated Wipers Keep Your Rear Windshield Clear

Have you ever turned on your ignition, hoping to wipe the frost from your windshield, only to find that your windshield wipers won’t budge? That’s because when the weather gets cold enough, your wipers can actually get stuck, frozen on the windshield.

Heated wiper park, which is standard on the Denali and Denali Ultimate and part of the luxury package, addresses this concern. This smart feature heats the bottom of the windshield when your wipers are in their “parked” position, preventing them from freezing in place.

This feature not only improves visibility on snow days but also extends the lifespan of your wiper blades by minimizing wear and tear. No matter the conditions, you can trust the rear wiper to quickly clear your rear window for better visibility, thanks to the heated feature.

Standard features to be aware of

While you don’t need to add these features, as they come standard with every Acadia, we do want to direct your attention to them. Often, drivers don’t even realize that their trim comes with these winter-ready features, which is why we want to highlight a few of them that will make winter easier for all drivers.

The first is tri-zone climate control, which allows first-, second, and third-row passengers to set their own climate zones. Each row can decide which temperature is most comfortable for them, and adjust accordingly, without worrying about impacting the other rows.

Then, there’s remote start, which lets you turn on your ignition from your key fob when you are not in your vehicle. So, why does this help in winter weather? Because it also lets you activate your climate control before getting into your cabin, based on the settings used before turning off the Acadia. That means no more waiting in a cold cabin while things heat up. Pre-warm your cabin while you’re still cozy in your home.

Finally, there’s traffic sign recognition. It uses a front-facing camera to detect posted speed limit signs. When it detects such a sign, the system projects the associated icon on your instrument cluster.

In harsh winter conditions, we can all use a little extra help spotting speed limit signs or any other important road signage. Low visibility can make it difficult to see these with the naked eye, and traffic sign recognition gives you a second chance to notice when the speed limit has changed.

Altogether, these standard features make driving the Acadia in winter safer, more comfortable, and much easier for everyone on board.
